Short Term Stays

​The Ridgewood at Shenango Valley welcomes residents who need an accommodation and services for only a short period of time.

This situation may arise when a loved one lives with a caregiver and the caregiver needs a short break or may be away from home. A short stay provides a private apartment and assistance with daily living activities so that caregivers can rest assured that their loved one’s needs are met.

A resident staying on a limited basis is provided with a furnished apartment making the short stay an easy and comfortable transition. Care of a resident on a short stay is customized to meet their needs.


The following is a list of services provided for individuals who reside in The Ridgewood at Shenango Valley on a short stay basis:

  • A private apartment for your use
  • Access to a continuum of health care at St. Paul’s — A Continuing Care Community
  • Access to 24-hour staffing for emergencies
  • Short-term intervention for unexpected illnesses and injuries
  • Three nutritious meals daily with availability of special and\or simple diets, supplements, and available snacks
  • Weekly housekeeping with linen changes
  • Utility services — electric, water, sewer, trash removal and wifi
  • Emergency help call system
  • Wall-to-wall carpeting and mini-blinds
  • Individual control of heat and air conditioning
  • Kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and sink
  • Full bathroom including shower with handrails
  • Centrally located washers and dryers
  • On-site gift shop to purchase convenience items
  • Central mail center — security of mail and parcels
  • Participation in programs, special events and activities
  • Spiritual Care including a non-denominational services and Bible study
  • Maintenance, repair and replacement of The Ridgewood Shenango property
  • Maintenance of grounds for all seasons
  • KIT — It’s Never 2 Late (adaptive computer equipment with Internet access for email, Skype, etc.)
  • Medication reviews with LPN
  • Staff communications with family or designated person for emergencies or significant circumstances
